On each of the short sides of the cenotaph there are four reliefs
and on the long sides eight reliefs, which were all created by the
artist Alexander Colin. The reliefs are works from the late Renaissance
and are based on wooden carvings of the "Ehrenpforte"
(the Gate of Honor) by Albrecht Dürer.
